We Are Resurrection People | Your Nightly Prayer

There are moments in life when things feel beyond repair. Situations where we quietly (or loudly) think, “It’s too late.” Too much damage. Too much time has passed. Too much has been lost.

That’s exactly where Mary and Martha found themselves.

By the time Jesus arrived, Lazarus had been in the tomb for four days. Hope had expired. The story felt finished. Their words carried the weight of disappointment: “If you had been here…”

But Jesus steps into that place—not with an explanation, but with a declaration:
“I am the resurrection and the life.”

Not I bring resurrection someday.
Not I will fix this eventually.
But I am—right here, right now.

This changes everything.

Resurrection is not just a future promise reserved for eternity. It is a present reality wherever Jesus is present. It means that no situation is too far gone, no heart too hardened, no season too dead for Him to bring life again.

We are called “resurrection people” because we live with this bold, stubborn hope:

  • That God can restore what feels lost

  • That He can redeem what feels broken

  • That He can breathe life into what feels lifeless

Even tonight, Jesus stands with you—not distant, not delayed, not “too late.” He stands in the middle of your story with the same power He carried at Lazarus’ tomb.

And where He is, life is still possible.

Main Takeaways

  • Jesus is not just the giver of resurrection—He is resurrection itself.

  • It is never “too late” for God to bring new life into a situation.

  • Resurrection power is available now, not just in the future.

  • As believers, we are called to live with bold, hope-filled faith.

  • Jesus meets us in our darkest places and brings life there.

TONIGHT’S SCRIPTURE

I am the resurrection and the life.” - John 11:25

Your Evening Prayer

Precious Jesus,
Thank You for being the resurrection and the life. Thank You that no part of my story is too far gone for You to redeem.

In the places where I feel hopeless or discouraged, remind me that You are present and still at work. Breathe new life into the areas of my heart that feel weary or worn down.

Help me live as a resurrection person—full of hope, faith, and trust in Your power. Give me the courage to believe that You are moving, even when I cannot yet see it.

Tonight, I rest in the truth that You are with me, and where You are, life is always possible.

In Your name,
Amen.
