Spiritual Direction

Is Spiritual Direction for You? The Benedictine Center in Maplewood is offering an opportunity for spiritual seekers to learn more about the purpose and process of spiritual direction. Called “Attentive Companions: Spiritual Direction and the Journey with God,” this two-hour session will be held Tuesday, September 24, from 7 to 9 p.m. A freewill offering will be accepted. It will be led by Kami Pohl, Tod Twist and members of the Benedictine Center Staff who represent a total of 100 years experience in spiritual direction. “The role of a spiritual director, says Sam Rahberg, director of the Center,” is to listen to concerns, share insights and create a place where participants feel safe talking about deep spiritual issues. This opportunity gives those new to spiritual direction a place to start. Those with more experience can learn how to make the most of each session.” Pohl is a spiritual director who received her training from the Franciscan Spirituality Center in La Crosse, Wisconsin. Twist is currently in training at this same Franciscan Center to become a spiritual director.
