Thanksgiving Devotionals

There are two levels of gratitude. Unfortunately, we kind of dwell in the lower level.

Today, gratitude still paves the way to blessing in both body and soul.

Holiday travel. It isn’t easy. Then why do we do it?

Each time we are tempted to say something at Thanksgiving or at any event, we need to run our words or comments through Ephesians 4:29. If they are not in agreement with God’s Word, then we need to refrain from saying them.

Though life may get hard--and it does--it all falls under God's sovereign will. And so we give thanks.

We are so quick to ask for God’s help, but let’s remember to be just as quick in giving Him praise when He comes through.

Black Friday is usually not marked by a spirit of Christian unity, even though it’s supposed to kick off the Christmas season.

No matter what, He’s given us so many reasons to choose thankfulness and joy.

My gratitude jar will have three or four slips of paper and be shoved on a shelf somewhere, forgotten. It's a great idea, but somehow a pretty jar doesn't do the heart work for me.

When we share our lives, our homes, our money, our hearts, our skills, and our time as an outpouring of thanksgiving, God is pleased.

The question for our day is clear: why do so many experience the goodness of God and so few return with grateful thanksgiving?

Praise and thanksgiving to God do more than make us feel good.

This world and the life we live in it is often a thankfulness-stealer. But in Christ, we know that we can "rejoice always."
